Fountain lights are underwater lights with a very high installation rate. We have learned 2 points about safe use and avoiding problems in the previous article. Today, we will continue to learn about the precautions for short circuit and installation of fountain underwater lights.
LED Fountain Lights – How To Avoid Leakage, Fading, Short Circuit
3. Short circuit protection: circuit protection and standardized installation
(1) Overcurrent & overvoltage protection device
It is usually recommended to build-in PTC thermistors or fuses for fountain underwater lights to prevent short circuits and burn circuits caused by sudden current changes.
The driving power supply must have surge protection (such as lightning protection design) to cope with grid voltage fluctuations.
(2) Line sealing & standardized wiring
Waterproof junction boxes are used at the wiring of underwater LED lights, filled with waterproof glue, and waterproof locking nuts are configured at the cable outlet.
Avoid direct connection of multiple strands of copper wire, and use welding or crimping terminals to reduce contact resistance.
(3) Installation & maintenance precautions
Leakage protection switch: A leakage protection switch must be installed in the circuit to immediately cut off the power in case of leakage.
Regular inspection: It is recommended to regularly clean up the debris of LED underwater fountain lamps, check the aging of the sealing ring, and replace the failed parts.
4. Comprehensive protection case: YFFY-PLR01018 fountain lamp technical analysis
(1)Structural design
304 stainless steel shell + tempered glass lens, IP68 waterproof; internal potting glue forms secondary protection.
The bottom is pre-installed with a stainless steel mounting bracket to prevent the screws from rusting and loosening.
(2) Circuit protection
12V low-voltage input, equipped with an overcurrent protector; the RGB controller supports the DMX512 protocol and has strong anti-interference.
(3) Weather resistance
The LED lamp beads are covered with anti-UV silicone, and the lens transmittance is ≥92%; the heat sink fins extend the life of the lamp body to 30,000 hours.
The Key Logic of The long Life of The Fountain Lamp
The solution of leakage, fading, and short circuit depends on the three core elements of material weather resistance (corrosion resistance, UV resistance), structural sealing (IP level, potting process), and circuit protection design (low-voltage isolation, overcurrent protection).
Selecting products that meet international standards (such as IP68, CE certification) and standardizing installation and maintenance can significantly reduce the failure rate and achieve the unity of safety and aesthetics of landscape lighting.
