Solar White Lights On Buoys: Characteristics

Solar white lights on buoys what are the application characteristics and significance in navigation equipment? Let’s learn about it together in this article.

Characteristics & Functions of Solar White Lights On Buoys

  • Energy sustainability

Solar navigation lights use photovoltaic power generation as the core energy source, and achieve long-term maintenance-free operation through the combination of high-efficiency solar panels (conversion efficiency ≥ 22%) and lithium iron phosphate batteries (cycle life ≥ 2000 times). With its green energy, high visibility and intelligent characteristics, it is gradually widely used in maritime navigation, port management, inland waterways and other fields.

For example, the model of YFFY-LS-E solar buoy light is equipped with solar panels, which can work continuously for 7-12 days on rainy days and is suitable for offshore or remote waterways. This design avoids the pollution risk of traditional lead-acid batteries and reduces operation and maintenance costs by about 30%.

  • Optical performance & visibility

White navigation lights represent “indication and guidance” in the IALA standard and are often used in safe areas such as port entrances and waterway centerlines. Usually, white light has a visible distance of up to 3 nautical miles and supports a variety of flashing modes (such as IALA code and Morse code) to adapt to complex weather conditions. The penetration and contrast of white light enable it to clearly transmit navigation information both day and night.

  • Environmental adaptability & durability

Buoy lights need to cope with harsh environments such as salt spray corrosion and wind and wave impact. Modern solar buoy lights generally adopt IP68 protection level, wind resistance ≥12 level design, and are equipped with adaptive energy optimization system.

For example, the solar navigation light developed by the Yangtze River Navigation Administration has achieved five years of maintenance-free in the humid and rainy inland river environment through sealed structure and reinforced materials.

  • Intelligence & remote monitoring

The new generation of products integrates AIS, Beidou or GSM modules to support remote monitoring and fault diagnosis. For example,YFFY solar lights can select 256 flashing rhythms through the remote control, and can be equipped with GPS positioning function to achieve dynamic trajectory tracking. Such technologies improve the response efficiency of navigation management and reduce the cost of manual inspections.
