The solar starboard light is a navigational light designed specifically for non-powered marine vessels (such as barges, dredgers, and tugboats) to ensure safe navigation.
This solar navigational lights features an integrated solar panel with a 25% conversion efficiency, powered by a lithium iron phosphate battery.
The light source utilizes a custom-designed LED chip, offering high brightness, low energy consumption, and a long lifespan. The shade is molded from UV-resistant PC material, offering corrosion, UV, and impact resistance.
This solar-powered marine light is solar-powered, durable, UV-resistant, and easy to install. It can also be customized with GPS synchronization for remote control.
This solar warning lights can be easily installed on a vessel, requiring no cables or specialized training.
Features of the Solar Starboard Light
According to navigation regulations, the starboard light is a key marine navigational light on a vessel. It emits green light covering a 112.5-degree horizontal arc, extending from just ahead of the ship’s starboard side to the stern.
This helps other vessels determine the vessel’s heading. In terms of standards, starboard lights must comply with the requirements of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) and relevant national regulations, including brightness, mounting location, and visibility distance. Proper installation and maintenance of starboard lights are crucial for safe navigation at night or in poor visibility.
A green light is located on the starboard side of a vessel & serves the following purposes:
Direction indicator: A green light located on the starboard side indicates the vessel is on the starboard side when viewed from the front. When another vessel sees a green light, it generally indicates that they have the right of way as they are on the starboard side.
Safety: The green light is also visible within a 112.5-degree arc from directly in front of the vessel to the aft of the starboard side.
The Importance of Ship Navigation Lights
Collision Prevention: By installing solar-powered marine navigation lights, a vessel can indicate its presence and direction of movement, enabling other vessels to make informed decisions and avoid accidents.
Compliance with Maritime Law: Marine lanterns ensure that ships operate in accordance with international regulations, reducing risks and protecting life and cargo.
Communicating vessel type and status: Different colored marine boat lights can indicate whether a vessel is engaged in fishing, tugboating, sailing, or anchored, helping to identify specific vessel operations.
Light Intensity & Brightness
In addition to visibility range and arc, the brightness of a solar starboard light plays a crucial role in ensuring visibility in all conditions.
Marine navigation boat lights must be bright enough to penetrate fog, rain, and darkness, yet not produce excessive glare that could interfere with other vessels. YFFY’s solar marine lights are available in 1-20 nm.
