Low-intensity Aviation Obstruction Lighting Standards

Low-intensity aviation obstruction lightings are a type of aviation obstruction lights, mainly used for auxiliary warnings of high-altitude buildings, lighthouses, chimneys, etc., and they are usually used in conjunction with medium-intensity and high-intensity obstruction lights to provide a more comprehensive warning effect.

Features

Features of Low-intensity Aviation Obstruction Lighting

Effective light intensity is divided into: 32.5cd, red is steady-on.

Aviation obstruction warning lights are generally divided into three types:

low-intensity, medium-intensity, and high-intensity lights.

> Low-intensity lights: red, steady-on mode, generally also called red obstruction lights;

> Medium-intensity aviation obstruction lights: Type A is white, Type B is red, flashing;

> High-intensity aviation obstruction warning lights: Type A/B are both white flashing.

Type A has three effective light changes, and Type B has two effective light changes.

The flash frequency is not less than 20 times per minute and not more than 60 times per minute.

The vertical and horizontal distances of high-altitude obstacle lights are greater than 45 meters. Buildings and facilities can use three types of obstacle sign lights in conjunction with each other.

Usually, lightning arresters and bird avoidance rods should be installed on the top of high-altitude obstacle warning lights to prevent bird landing and other pollution. For example, YFFY’s led warning lights are equipped with bird avoidance rods.

Types of Low-intensity Aviation Obstruction Lighting

(1) H≤45 meters, low-intensity aviation obstruction lights are used;

(2) 45 meters ≤H≤150 meters, medium-intensity, and low-intensity aviation obstruction lights are used in combination;

(3) H≥150 meters, medium- and high-intensity aviation obstruction lights are used in combination with medium-intensity and low-intensity aviation obstruction lights.

Scope of Supply:

The low-intensity aviation obstruction lights produced and supplied by YFFY include solar warning lights, LED warning lights, different sizes, PC, aluminum materials, etc., which can be selected by different customers for the following places requiring warning lighting:

  • High-altitude buildings
  • Aviation obstruction warning
  • Communication towers
  • Chimneys
  • Bridge buildings
  • Cranes

Regardless of the type of high-altitude obstruction lights, the number and arrangement of aviation obstruction lights at different heights should be able to consider the simultaneous and sequential flashing of aviation obstruction lights from all aspects to achieve a clear warning effect.
