Aircraft Beacon Light,Aircrat Warning Lights

Aircraft Beacon Light Requirements For Setting

Aircraft beacon light requirements are the standard setting for aviation obstacle warning lights. Obstacles need to be warned about safely. Let's learn this.

Aircraft Beacon Light Requirements For Setting

The aircraft beacon light requirements for setting for aviation obstacle warning lights.

The number of light sources and spatial layout of various aviation obstruction lights at different altitudes should ensure that the outline characteristics of the target object or building group can be identified from all observation angles.

In terms of lighting control, it is necessary to comprehensively consider the coordination of synchronous flashing and sequential flashing of high-altitude aircraft warning lights, and form a significant visual warning effect through scientific light signal arrangement.

Setting & Distribution of Aircraft Beacon Light

1. Principles of aircraft warning lights layout

Obstacle top and outline marking The setting of high-altitude obstruction lights should fully mark the highest point (visual height) and outermost edge (visual width) of the obstacle to ensure three-dimensional spatial visibility.

Multi-layer obstacle setting standards

  • When the altitude of the top of the object exceeds 45m above the surrounding ground, a mid-level obstruction light, that is, a medium-intensity aviation obstruction light, must be set, and the vertical distance between layers shall not exceed 45m and be distributed as evenly as possible.
  • For urban buildings over 100m high, mid-level supplementary lighting should be given priority, and buildings around residential areas should control the light scattering angle to ensure that only weak light spots can be seen from ground observation.
  • Requirements for large-scale building complex identification aircraft warning lights in group buildings should ensure omnidirectional contour recognition, and be set at a 45m reference spacing in the horizontal direction. Complex shapes need to be verified by optical simulation.

2. Grading Setting Standards

105-meter-level obstacles:

White flashing medium-intensity Type A aircraft warning lights are configured at the top, and red medium-intensity lights Type B are set at equal heights in the lower layer to form a layered light signal system.

Super-high obstacles above 150 meters:

A combination of high-intensity aircraft beacon light Type A top lights and medium-intensity layer lights is used to build a gradient warning system.

Special structures (such as radio and television towers and large bridges) require special design of the light environment.

Ultra-high voltage transmission facility towers:

A high-intensity warning light Type B three-layer synchronous flashing system is used, and the installation positions are the top of the tower, the lowest point of the conductor arc, and the midpoint between the two. The lamps are installed externally along the conductor axis.

Special structure setting:

Chimney facilities should be set within 1.5-3 meters of the top. Considering air pollution factors, it is allowed to move the lamps down to 4-6 m below the chimney mouth (according to GB standards).

    3. General technical aircraft beacon light requirements

All obstacle lights should meet the following requirements:

    (1) Omnidirectional visibility: the number and arrangement of lamps at each altitude layer must ensure 360° contour recognition

    (2) Flash coordination: adopt synchronous flashing control strategy

    (3) Light effect consistency: maintain color purity and flash frequency compliance

Whether it is LED aircraft beacon light or solar aviation lights, choosing the right obstacle warning lights can maximize high-altitude safety.
